Life Insurance

How Much Does Life Insurance Cost?

The cost of life insurance can vary greatly based on a number of factors. Some of the factors used to calculate your premium are:

  • Age: In general, the younger you are, the less likely you are to pass away. This means life insurance costs less the earlier you get started.
  • Health Condition: Your height, weight, blood pressure, and other basic health information is used to determine your premium.
  • Tobacco Use: Using tobacco products and/or nicotine usually means your life insurance will cost more.
  • Medical History: If you’ve previously had medical concerns, that may be factored in to your premium.
  • Lifestyle: If you engage in high risk activities like skydiving or rock climbing,  you may pay more.

That being said, life insurance doesn’t necessarily need to cost a lot. A $250,000 term policy for a 30 year old male in good health starts as low as $12 per month.
